Durant Goes 49-17-10 to Get Game 5 Win

Stephen A said it during one of his interviews yesterday during First Take! He said, Kevin Durant will drop 50 tonight in order to get one more win in Game 5. Now, when he made this statement he was under the impression that James Harden and Kyrie Irving were both out for the game and that Durant would have to go off to get the win. James Harden was cleared for Game 5 which meant a much easier task for Durant…or did it?

So what happens when you take Kyrie out of the picture and just have a gimpy James Harden and Kevin Durant running the show? Magic happens to be honest with you. Kevin Durant became only the 4th player in playoff history to go 40-15-10 in a playoff game. Giannis Antetokounmpo should be taking over the game with defense and not settling for outside shots. It does not seem like he has a strong feel for the game in this series. Giannis wants to guard Kevin Durant during Game 6 but I don’t think that is going to make much of a difference unless James Harden is still suffering like he did in Game 5.

James Harden had all eyes on him when he had the ball which led to him having a minimal impact from a points perspective. However, he had 8 assists that were dimes dropped for players to have easy lay ups in the end. He took some of the pressure off of Kevin Durant who was able to take contested shot after contested shot. I can tell you this…I am starting to wonder who is better overall in the playoffs; Kevin Durant or Lebon James? Right now I am leaning towards Kevin Durant at this point.
